Butter Alternatives
What is a butter alternative?
AAK butter alternatives cook, function and taste just like dairy butter, but they’re made from plant-based oils and fats. With an identical melt profile as traditional butter or ghee, they can be used as either a total or partial replacement for dairy butter in any recipe such as cakes, buttercreams, cookies, savoury sauces and ready meals.
In blind taste tests, there is no discernible difference in the end food recipe, and indeed AAK butter alternatives are already found in several major products on the supermarket shelves or in foodservice kitchens. They can help to lower both the cost and the carbon footprint of the food product dramatically, and show no variation between summer and winter, making them far easier to handle in the factory!
