11th April 2019

Our Hull team played host in February to 20 visitors from the Hull Bondholders – a dynamic network of regional businesses and education institutions that work together to promote the Humber region.

The group, comprising customers and suppliers, together with representatives from local schools, colleges and universities, gathered in our newly opened CI Centre.

They were subsequently invited to attend presentations on our work here in Hull and on palm oil sustainability, before touring the refinery and factory.

Guests were also challenged to try to tell the difference between fudge and cupcakes made from real butter, and those made with our specially developed butter alternatives.

Here’s what a few of them had to say…

What a fascinating morning at @AAK in Hull. Another brilliant event organised by @marketinghumber. I learned so much about what AAK does. It’s such a diverse business and all its palm oil is sustainably sourced.

What a great morning at AAK’s Customer Innovation Centre in Hull! Amazing tour of the factory, thanks the AAK Team and Bondholders.

AAK Marketing Manager, Helen Flower, who played a pivotal role in organising the event, said…

“It was great to welcome so many people, from different organisations in the region, to our Hull site.

“Our aim was to raise awareness of what we do, explain our work on sustainable palm oil, and create stronger bonds with our region’s education establishments – to support our future talent spotting and recruitment initiatives.

“The great feedback we received suggests that we achieved our objective.

“Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to making the day such a great success.”
